Into The Green

While struggling to conceive an assemblage for this day, I noticed the green shirt I had on was the same color as my wallet and thought about how many green articles of clothing I owned. I looked around my apartment and took stock of all of the green things I owned and thought I’d give it a go at doing just a green thing assemblage. I contained the assemblage in a green suitcase, which I then staged in in front of my apartment door, probably because the suitcase evokes a sense of moving or traveling. The arrangement of items felt kind of nonsensical since the only qualifying factor was the color green, there is a mix of objects one would expect to find packed in a suitcase and objects one normally doesn’t travel with. I think this causes the viewer to look more deeply at each piece in the effort to find the narrative meaning as a whole.
